🐾 Prigozhin shot down

Good morning, readers!

We have some wild breaking news today.

Many have been wondering how Prigozhin is still alive after staging an armed mutiny against Putin. Well, it seems like it wasn’t long enough.

Today’s geopolitics hotspots:

India beats the world to the Moon’s south pole

In a groundbreaking feat, India just became the first country to land a spacecraft near the moon’s south pole.

🚀 What happened?

  • As the clock struck 6 pm on a Wednesday evening in India, the Chandrayaan-3 lander gracefully touched down on the lunar surface.

  • The landing is notorious tricky to pull off as it requires impeccable timing and navigation. In fact, just a few days prior, Russia’s Luna-25 failed a similar mission—crashing onto the lunar surface.

🤔 What’s the fuss?

Well, it's no ordinary chunk of celestial real estate. This region boasts eternally shaded craters concealing the possibility of water ice and other valuable materials.

But wait, there's more.

It also has peaks that are exposed to sunlight for a prolonged amount of time—making it perfect for harnessing solar power.

🗓️ What’s next.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is geared up to conduct a series of experiments, studying the lunar soil's mineral makeup and looking for traces of water and other elusive compounds. The treasure trove of data amassed by this endeavor could prove invaluable for future lunar missions and even pave the way for moon-based settlements.

Prigozhin’s plane crashes, killing everyone

Prigozhin’s private jet crashed near Moscow, killing everyone on board. It was reportedly shot down by Russian air defenses.

The Russian Civil Aviation Authority stated that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group, was on the “passenger list.”

🔥 The crash

  • The jet was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

  • It crashed in the Tver region, north of Moscow.

  • There were seven passengers and three crew members on board.

📄 The passenger list

  • If Prigozhin is indeed dead, his death would be a convenient outcome for the Kremlin, which was nearly overthrown by him in June.

  • However, there is no official confirmation of Prigozhin’s death yet.

🌟 Today’s gem

There is an interesting joke going around at X regarding this. 👆🏻

People claim that Putin was caught on camera looking for his watch on the left wrist, when he wears it on the right wrist!

Some people joked that the “real Putin” forgot to tell his body double about the right-wrist watch.

Body double or nah?
