🐾 Mia Khalifa + Hamas

Good morning, readers!

Unfortunately, as the Israel-Hamas conflict rages on, the world is splitting into even more factions.

As you may be able to peek below, we are starting off by examining the recent outrage involving Mia Khalifa praising Hamas, then looking at BLM’s involvement in the conflict, and Turkey’s escalating rhetoric against the US.

Khalifa’s controversial comments gets her fired.

You may know her as the former porn star who wore a hijab in her sex videos, but Mia Khalifa is now making headlines for a different reason. She has been fired by Playboy and a psychedelic mushroom company for her controversial comments on the recent Hamas attack on Israel.

What did she say?

Mia Khalifa, a Lebanese-American who was once the most popular adult performer on PornHub, took to X to express her support for Hamas, the terrorist group that launched a surprise attack on Israel on Saturday, slaughtering thousands of civilians.

🔎 Here are some of the things she did:

  • She called them “freedom fighters.”

  • She mocked Israel’s defense system.

  • She also asked people to tell the Hamas terrorists to film their attacks horizontally for better video quality (referring to a video of Hamas terrorists parading the disfigured naked body of a dead girl).

Playboy

Playboy, the iconic magazine and media company that had hired Khalifa as a creator on its platform, was outraged by her comments.

They sent her an email terminating their relationship with her and deleting her channel.

🔎 Here’s their statement to the Playboy Creator Community regarding their decision:

The mushroom company

Red Light Holland, a psychedelic mushroom company that had partnered with Khalifa for an investment deal, also fired her publicly on X.

Why does it matter?

This incident raises questions about the role of social media platforms in moderating speech.

Khalifa’s fans and critics are divided over her tweets, with some defending her right to free speech and others condemning her ignorance and bigotry.

From BLM Chicago’s post on X.

BLM loses supporters after praising Palestine.

Black Lives Matter just alienated a lot of its fans by siding with the Palestinians in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

  • @blmgrassroots posted a statement on X that praised the resistance of Hamas, the terrorist organization that has been firing rockets at Israel.

  • @BLMChi posted a similar message with an image of a paraglider. This is referring to Hamas terrorists using motorized paragliders to invade Israel and massacre hundreds of innocent people at an Israeli music festival.

✱ NOTE: Many former supporters of BLM expressed their disgust and disappointment at the group’s stance.

🇹🇷 Turkey:

President Erdogan at a joint news conference with Austrian Chancellor Nehammer on Tuesday.

Erdogan warns of US-led massacres in Gaza.

Turkey’s president is not happy with the US sending an aircraft carrier to Israel. He says it will bomb Gaza and massacre civilians. He also slams Israel’s blockade of Gaza, saying it violates human rights.

What is the US aircraft carrier doing in Israel? What is it coming to do? It will take down Gaza by striking the surrounding areas and start committing serious massacres.

President Erdogan.

✱ NOTE: Erdogan is standing firm on his offer to mediate peace between the two warring parties.

🇷🇺 Russia:

From Kadyrov’s post on Telegram.

Chechen leader wants to send troops to stop Israel.

Ramzan Kadyrov, a staunch ally of Russian President Putin, posted a video message on Monday, calling for a global intervention to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza. He also offered to deploy his own forces as peacekeepers, claiming they could “restore order” and “counter any disruptive elements” in the region.

✱ NOTE: In Kadyrov’s previous visit to Israel, he opened a $10 million Akhmat Kadyrov Mosque, named after his late father. This mosque was struck by Hamas recently.

🇷🇺 Russia:

Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow’s bid to rejoin UN rights body defeated.

Russia wants to sit on the UN Human Rights Council again, but many are not buying it. After being kicked out last year for invading Ukraine and committing war crimes, Russia competed with Albania and Bulgaria for two seats in the East European group of the Council.

🔎 Here are the results:

  • 🇧🇬 Bulgaria: 160 votes.

  • 🇦🇱 Albania: 123 votes.

  • 🇷🇺 Russia: 83 votes.

✱ NOTE: The Human Rights Council is a 47-member body that reviews the rights records of all countries, appoints independent investigators, and sends fact-finding missions.
